"Seussical" by Trabuco Hills High School Off the Wall Theatre Company 5.24.13

近所にあるトラビューコ ヒルズ高校の劇団部によるミュージカル、"Seussical" を見てきました。
高校生とは思えないプロダクションの質の良さに驚かされ、生徒それぞれのタレントに魅了される、楽しい夜となりました。

What a night!  The musical "Seussical" by Trabuco Hills High School Off the Wall Theatre Company was fun and so entertaining.  The production was well made and well presented because of so many talented students and staff.  I was totally amused and amazed!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Zumba Class (ズンバクラス）

毎週金曜日の朝、近くの教会で催される無料 Zumba クラス。
参加者の殆んどは、学校に子供を送った帰り道の奥様方。幼い子供を同伴のママ達もチラホラいらっしゃいます。 ママが汗を流している間、周りの子供たちは持参した玩具やゲームで静かに遊んでいる様子。

ギャブンもきっとそうしてくれるだろうと、ゲーム、玩具の車、おやつ、椅子まで持参。
椅子に座っていたのはたったの2～3分。ゲームも玩具もそっちのけで、１時間のZumba レッスンに参加! とっても楽しかったらしく、また来週もZumba行こうねって言っています。


Finally got a chance to join my friend Arely for the free Zumba class at Saddleback Church today.  There are some moms came with their little ones and their portable game device and some toys.  My youngest accompanied me with his toy car, LeapPad 2, snacks, and a little chair.  He only sat on his chair for the first 2~3 minutes, and he joined me and the ladies around my age for Zumba for the rest of the time we were there.  He said he wants to come to the class again next Friday.

カリフォルニア、チェリーシーズン突入! (Cherry Season just has began!)

California Cherry season starts mid-May and goes throughout June. Only six-week season goes by like the blink of an eye. Got to love its cuteness, plumpness, and deliciousness while we can!

カリフォルニアでは、チェリーシーズン突入です。　５月中旬から６月いっぱいにかけてが、最高に美味しい時期。たったの６週間なんて、あっという間に過ぎてしまうんだから、今の内にチェリーの美味しさは勿論、可愛らしいところ、ぽってりしたところをエンジョイしなきゃ～。

ブルーベリーレモ・ライムネード （Blueberry-Lime-Lemonade）

With little drops of blue-purple heaven (Blueberry Syrup) in a Lime/Lemonade, we got "Blueberry-Lime-Lemonade" to cool down this afternoon.　　
I might be switching to Blueberry Martini later on.

ブルーべりーシロップを、レモンとライムとお冷に数滴落として、ブルーベリーレモ・ライムネードの出来上がり!  爽やかな味と香りで喉を潤してくれています。
今夜は、ブルーベリーマーティーニでも作っちゃおうかな。

Blueberry Picking in Temeclula

今日は早起きして、Temecula にあるブルーベリーファームへ。
毎年恒例のブルーベリー狩りに行ってきました。 小さなバケツ３つ分摘んだブルーベリーで、家に帰ったら何を作ろう かな．．．。 Got up early this morning and went to Temecula Blueberry Farm for our annual blueberry picking.　What do I want to make with 3 small bucket full of blueberries

現金ちょうだ～い。

"I need cash, Mama", said my 3 year old. He told me he needed cash because he wanted to play "Store cashier". Who doesn't need cash... I guess he does too...So I thought and I gave him some change. He smiled as you see in the photo, and said, "Can I keep them when I'm done playing?". "Sure, you can", thinking "How can I say NO to this face". "Thank you", he said and walked straight to his piggy bank.

３歳の息子が、「ママ、現金ちょうだ～い」と言ってきた。
お店のレジ係をして遊びたいとの事。
現金が必要でない人なんていないよね～．．．と思いながらも、
お金とか、コインとかじゃ～なくて、「現金」って言うのね．．．とちょっとぞっとしながら小銭を渡すと．．． 「遊んだ後は、この小銭僕がキープしてもいい？」なんて、ちゃっかりしている。
レジごっごをしながら、お金の数え方を学んでもらえば安いもんだと思いながら、
「いいよ~」と返事をすると．．．「有難う～」と言いながら、そのまま自分の貯金箱にさっさと小銭を納めた息子でした。　だまされた～。

Vinyl records．．．レコードが何かを知らない世代

"What are these round things?", pointing at vinyl records in the window display. . . Well, before there was iTunes, there was CD, and before CD, there was cassette tapes, and before cassette. . . Wow!! I've been living through the revolution of how we've been listening to the music!

「この丸いのなあに？」… ウィンドウディスプレーのデコレーションに使われているレコードを知らないiTunes世代の息子。ママはぜ〜んぶ経験してきたんだよ～。

大好きなべーグルの食べ方

Peanut butter, Jalapeño slices on toasted bagels... I finally remembered to buy a jar of Jalapeño at the store today.  I realized how much I love to eat bagels this way.

久々にピーナッツバターとハラペーニョペッパーピックルスのスライスをのっけたベーグルを食べています。随分と食べていなかったのは、スーパーに行く度に、瓶詰めハラペーニョペッパーピックルを飼い忘れてしまうからです。 甘さと酸っぱさと辛さが上手いこと調和する、私の中では、最高のベーグルの食べ方です。

美味しくいただくティップの一つに、バターを塗ったべーグルをフライパンでグリスすること。
甘いバターの香ばしさが加わって、一層美味しくいただけます。

注意事項：熱いコーヒーと一緒に頂く場合、ハラペーニョペッパーの辛さがコーヒーの温度を一層

強調するので、気をつけてください。
